flespi is SENT-GEO ready

A new stream helps forwarders comply with the recent logistics regulations in Poland.

New regulations came into force on Nov 1, 2024 in Poland. You thought we’d missed it? ;) We’ve been waiting for the right moment to announce that you can not only connect to the SENT-GEO system, but you can also keep using your familiar fleet management platform.

Poland has implemented stricter regulations for international cargo transportation, impacting all foreign carriers entering its territory. This change is particularly significant for Ukrainian logistics companies and forwarders, given Poland's crucial role as a transit hub for their operations. Is it a problem? No — with flespi it's not.

So, what is SENT?

The SENT system is a digital platform designed to monitor and regulate cargo transport entering Poland. Initially introduced to bolster border control, SENT now covers all carriers transporting goods under various permits. So, if you're dealing with:

  • One-time permits
  • ECMT permits
  • Permits not required under agreements like the Liberalization of Freight Transport

... it affects you. The system requires carriers to provide detailed information about the shipment, including the foreign transporter’s details, sender and recipient information, and start and end points within Poland — all of that haze of transport documents and permit numbers.

Sounds classic. However, for accurate data submission, your devices must be directly registered with the system and communicate properly. Failing to do so can result in fines — I would even say fines. For Ukrainian carriers, who have traditionally relied on Polish routes for goods transport, these changes highlight the importance of quick adaptation and compliance.

Where flespi steps in

Acting as a telematics middleware, we'll efficiently transfer all the necessary GPS parameters with a set frequency, so that you can be sure your trucks are always tracked without any issues. In short, there are two ways this can play out.

The first works perfectly if you’re using a fleet management platform like Navixy, Traccar, GPSWOX, Mapon, and surely — Wialon since we support quite a bunch of downstream integrations. With flespi as the middleman, your trucks send GPS data to our platform, and the data is streamed in two directions. One stream, ‘sent-geo’, handles communication with the SENT-GEO system, meeting all the required message parameters. The other dedicated stream mirrors the data to your familiar third-party platform, so you’re always in sync without losing a byte.

In the second scenario, we put your solution on the other end of the line. The setup stays almost the same, but instead of the source-dedicated stream, you use a ‘proxy’ channel that reliably forwards your data to its destination.

In both cases, you don't have to worry about new devices since the things are set up. Just connect them to flespi, assign them to the corresponding stream, and everything happens like magic.

Solved once and forever

I believe these regulations won’t be lifted. If anything changes, we’ve got it handled. Once you hook up your GPS trackers to our platform, you can leave the paperwork behind and get straight to loading. With all the questions ready to be answered — we're always just one click away in our Helpbox.
